Gâaaahhh!
ReplyDeleteBellamy's Heros the Spartan?
Can't wait for it!
How did you guess???
ReplyDeleteSeriously though we are all very excited at the prospect of finally being able to breathe new life into this epic series.
We'll be keeping you updated as work progresses.
wow! WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteJust give a hint: will this be a collection of Bellamy's work or is this a whole new re-imagining?
The piece looks awesome by the way!
Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you and with immediate regard to your question the book will be a complete collection of all of Bellamy's strips for Heros, including the appearance in the Eagle annual.
The production will be very similar to Wulf insofar as we are carefully restoring pages from the Eagle, whilst sourcing as much of the original artwork as possible so that we can show readers Bellamy's original artwork.
Further aspects of the production are still being discussed, but rest assured it will be a truly amazing book when it appears.
I am really excited to hear about this. I got your Wulf the Briton book and was slightly disappointed with no news from Titan books. I would love to see Garth by Bellamy given the same treatment as well. If you did not know i am the colourist who colours it in the Daily Mirror. A real labour of love!
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes
martin Baines
Funnily enough I was on Norman Boyd's blog looking at the work you have done on Garth a few days ago Martin. Really superb, with a lovely and subtle use of colour adding a lot of atmosphere to the pages.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news, but I hope the price will be affordable in these hard times.
ReplyDeletePrice is a real concern for us too Mike and we take your point. The book that we produce will undoubtedly be more expensive than the initial Titan edition was going to be but that will simply be a reflection of the increased production values that we apply to this project.
ReplyDeleteWe are very aware that we need to find the right balance between affordability and ensuring that we do not compromise on the quality of the book we produce.
